Everyone strives to live and celebrate their best life – especially in retirement. Since I retired, I’ve been on a quest for creating the best day every day by finding resources that help me wake up to mornings that are focused and purposeful. Keep reading for my retirement resources I’m loving now and how I am creating miracle mornings of my own.
What does a Miracle Morning Look Like?

Do you need some motivation to be more productive in your life? This book shares how starting with your morning routine can ultimately transform your life. Why not get that started? Hal’s S.A.V.E.R.S. method is a simple, effective step-by-step process to transform your life in as little as six minutes per day. Read and learn how Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Scribing are tools that help you easily make those changes!
I love how this easy to read guide, that is very conversational in nature, will convince you to start earlier, be more focused and intentional about your goals, and really help you take care of yourself. Then you’ll be the best version of yourself to spread to others in your life! Get this immediately!
Have you ever read the Bible in a Year?
Living my best life includes reading the Bible regularly. To help me achieve one of my goals, I’m using a great resource to read the Bible in a year. This is another resource I’m loving now to create my miracle mornings.
2. The Bible Recap
The Bible Recap follows a chronological Bible reading plan and is a short daily recap by creator and host, Tara-Leigh Cobble. She’ll highlight and summarize the day’s Bible The Bible Recap reading in an informative and easy to understand way. I read the recommended section, listen to it on Spotify, and then enjoy the suggested links to the Show Notes that offer further explanation of a wide variety of topics that arise from the readings. Get the book from Amazon here.

Starting the day off with focus and purpose is what I’m really loving right now. Creating miracle mornings does just that.
Is it time to join a book club?
I am finally rested and have the time to read books again! I’m lucky enough to have joined a book club with a great group of ladies. Joining a book club is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m loving either reading or listening to some terrific books with my Amazon Audible Membership as part of my miracle mornings (or afternoons). The icing on the cake is having some great discussions about what I’ve read at our once a month gathering.
3. Favorite Book Club Books
- God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
- The Rose Code by Kate Quinn
- Horse by Geraldine Brooks
- The Housemaids’s Secret by Freida McFadden
I have to admit that I am enjoying listening to my books on Audible more often than reading all of them since I sometimes have a few things going on at once. I get a lot of listening in when I’m driving around town or going on a roadtrip, too. If you haven’t tried Audible yet sign up here and look for my other recent favorites below or find some of their current best sellers.
4. More Books I Love … these I LOVED listening to the author’s voices as they told their story! I think memoirs on Audible are my favorites. When you subscribe to Audible you really save a lot of money, too.
- Green Lights, written AND narrated by Matthew McConaughey!
- Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, written AND narrated by Matthew Perry – I listened to this on Audible a few months before Matthew died. It made his death extra sad because I felt like I had gotten to know him so well.
- I Can’t Make This Up, written and narrated by Kevin Hart – This guy is just so funny – and honest!
- Spare, written and narrated by Prince Harry
Retiring is both joyful and can be quite scary. I know that sleeping in like it’s Saturday forever isn’t productive or healthy. It was important for me to figure out pretty quickly what my new normal routines would be.
I’m loving having resources to help me in creating my miracle mornings has been key to transitioning from work to retirement life.
Here’s my Miracle Morning schedule!
