My Latest Beauty Finds While in Quarantine

I meet regularly on Zoom with my girlfriends to survive during our quarantine. A recent conversation centered around the importance of continuing to maintain ourselves even during our stay-at-home orders from our governor. Our conversation inspired me to replenish a few of my favorites and order some of their suggested products. Let me tell you about some of my beauty finds.

I was getting low on my favorite foundation makeup and eyeliner despite the quarantine. My remote teaching on has me gathering on Google Meet for faculty meetings and class meetings. If you’ve ever wondered how a kindergarten class operates on a virtual platform click here.

Meeting so regularly keeps me wearing makeup daily. Estee Lauder’s Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Make-up from Macy’s. It goes on smooth and has an SPF 25. This allows me to feel protected when I run outside to soak up a little sun on the deck in between calls. I also like Estee Lauder’s eye pencil in Smoke since it lasts a such long time. You really feel like you are getting your money’s worth.

I haven’t gone gray, but my roots have grown out quite dark without my hair appointments. I went for as long as I could since my last hair appointment. Not having access to my great hair dresser Lisa down at Cobalt Hair Lab, I couldn’t go any longer! I colored my own hair from a box for years so I knew I could do it. It might not be perfect, but I gave it my best shot. As soon as we have access to non-essential appointments, you know I’ll be back at Cobalt Hair Lab as soon as I can get in!

There was obviously a run on hair color so I had to navigate the internet for a bit, but finally checked one of my favorite stores and found L’Oreal Paris Preference at Target. It turned out okay, though not near the professional job that Lisa can do, but it will work for virtual meetings and makes me feel a little perkier!

My girlfriends and I were lamenting over our lack of lashes as we grow older so I received the recommendation of Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. The description on the website says exactly what Jessica said about it:

Instantly create the look of lash extensions with this award-winning, best-selling mascara powered by technology that won’t clump, flake or smudge!

Just what I was looking for! I ordered it straight from the Thrive Cosmetics advertising 100% vegan and cruelty free products. It even came with the cute little bag for free! The company gives back to organizations that support women in many different ways.

Megan suggested eyelash serum to help the thinning eyelashes we were all complaining about. So I ordered RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum from Ulta. It claims to give thicker, stronger, and fuller looking lashes and had great reviews.

I will look forward to trying out my new beauty finds and letting you know how they work!
