1. Let the strawberries sit

2. Don’t overmix the dough
Mix just until combined to keep the shortcakes tender.
3. Serve slightly warm
Warm biscuits make all the difference in flavor and texture.
4. Assemble just before serving
This keeps everything from becoming soggy and ensures the best presentation.

Ingredients
Method
- Wash and slice the strawberries, then sprinkle with 3 tablespoons sugar. Toss gently and let them sit for about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Prepare whipped cream, stirring in 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine Bisquick mix, 3 tablespoons sugar, milk, and melted butter with a fork. Stir just until the dough comes together without overmixing.
- Drop 6 spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned. Cool slightly before assembling.
- Split the shortcakes in half while still warm. Place on individual serving plates. Spoon strawberries and their syrup over the bottom half, then top with whipped cream. Place the other half of the shortcake on top and add more berries and cream if desired. Serve immediately.
- Instead of making 8 individual shortcakes, press dough into a buttered 9 inch cake pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Cut into pie shaped slices and serve topped with strawberries & whipped cream.
